For whatever reason I became enamored with the building an iPhone weather app. How hard could it be? Before starting, I wanted to spend a day or so understanding why there were already so many weather apps out on the market. Weeks went by and I was still researching. I soon became more interested in the category than any attempting at building one.

This blog is for those building the apps. I know how much care and expectations can go into building an app. What I found is that there’s no one formula for building a great one. Some apps have great design but don’t offer much. Others somehow rearrange the same limited information and it’s now useful. I wanted to offer a starting point to allow those authors to get honest feedback on where they stood in relation to others doing something similar. If it’s not great, improve it. If it’s awesome, use the blog to find new inspiration.
